People seeking relief from pain, their condition or seeking to live a life of wellness often consider natural, alternative methods of treatment. Upper cervical chiropractic care is one of those methods. Upper cervical chiropractic care is when the doctor of chiropractic focuses their adjusting on the upper neck region of the spine. In addition, chiropractors tend to do some of the medical legal questionnaires for Worker’s Comp and Independent Medical/Chiropractor Evaluation. Interpreters will explore the terminology behind the anatomy and physiology of the neck, treatment techniques, equipment, most common diseases and practice their rendition on a variety patient’s testimonies. The purpose of this workshop is to elevate the knowledge and understanding of the interpreters behind the terminology and the setting in the chiropractic facility.
1. To make participants more familiar with common medical terminology and the not so often advanced terms that will come up at one time or another in a Chiropractic setting.
2. To improve the participant’s medical interpreting skills for Medical Legal assignments.
3. To provide interpreters with additional tools to improve Simultaneous and Sight Translation skills.
